
Waikato Regional Council
Waikato Regional Council manages land, water, soil, air, coastal and geothermal resources in the central North Island of New Zealand. Work includes:
- environmental regulation, education, consultation and co-ordination
- managing water quality, river control and coastal activities
- controlling possums and other pests
- preparing for civil defence emergencies
- co-ordinating land transport in the Waikato area.
Waikato Regional Council's mission:
To manage the sustainable use of our region's resources, working with the community to benefit present and future generations.
