Allocation of residential land

The tables on this page outline the allocation of residential land and the staging of residential growth in Waipa, Waikato and Hamilton through to 2061. The total population growth, set out below, has been developed and based on the population forecasts prepared by the University of Waikato for the Future Proof sub-region.

Most of the growth has been allocated to identified areas that focus on Hamilton city, and the towns andrural villages of Waipa and Waikato Districts.

The majority of growth is concentrated in Hamilton city (67 percent by 2061) with about 21 percent allocated to larger rural townships.
