Environment Waikato proposes changes to the Regional Policy Statement

10 November 2009

Environment Waikato are proposing a change to the Regional Policy Statement which will enable the implementation of the Future Proof Growth Strategy by setting out a range of implementation policies and methods for the Waikato region.

FutureProof was developed by Environment Waikato, Hamilton City Council, Waikato and Waipa District Councils and tangata whenua, in association with the New Zealand Transport Agency, to collectively manage growth in the Future Proof region. Future Proof provides a collective strategy for long- term settlement patterns, allocations for residential and industrial land and principles to guide development decisions across those areas which make up the Future Proof region - Hamilton and the Waikato and Waipa Districts.
